Wow I sure love spending 3 hours on first fixing my internet, then re-installing my tablet driver because the stroke tapers off at the end and it didn’t do that before, then re-installing SAI, then having to fix pen pressure in SAI, then having fix my monitor set-up because apparently the tablet won’t map to one monitor anymore, and THEN ending up with the same problem I started with (and I still don’t know how to fix that), and now I don’t even want to touch the damn thing.
Woo technology.
Or can they just define the course as literally whatever they want?
Like, at UWE Bristol, BA in Visual Arts means art history and art theory, while at Uni of Sydney, it seems to be similar to what Illustration is at uhhh La Trobe I think (which is kinda modern artsy and expressionistic). And Fine Arts at UNSW seems to be very … Illustration/art installation-y, and it doesn’t mention life drawing AT ALL while that is mentioned several times at I think it was AUB.
I mean I get that style history is important but … it seems like a majority of the course is made up of that, and that can’t be right.
Some places Fine Art seems to be art history and/or modern (abstract) art, and other places it’s like Old Masters and whatnot, which is closer to what I’m interested in. I think the closest thing to what I want that I’ve found so far is Character Animation/3D Art/Graphical Storytelling at The Animation Workshop, and well, 1. not interested in the animating part of animation, only in what people learn before they start animating (it seems to be very centred around life/gesture drawing, character design and a large amount of anatomy knowledge, all of which I want), 2. don’t care much about 3D stuff and 3. storytelling is awesome but it seems to be less focused on the art part than Character Animation is. Plus, Character Animation is about, well, characters, not so much environments afaik.
Oh yeah and the SCAD stuff of course, but that isn’t really an option.

In other news, this was on the front page for Uni of Plymouth’s Fine Arts BA (BFA?) degree.
I’m not so sure if Fine Arts is what I wanna do, because I’m only interested in drawing/painting, not … Art installations and gallery art and all that jazz. And I’m not sure what Illustration really entails, because some places seem to define it similarly to Fine Arts but exclusively in traditional media, while others end up with something similar to just … cartoons, which I’m not interested in. I guess it might be best to apply to a dedicated art school, like The Animation Workshop or DigiPen (which is compsci/art) or SCAD or something. But those are usually private and well expensive (kinda except for The Animation Workshop which is free except for materials, but is really picky about portfolios and whatnot).
Then again another option is to get a BA/BSc in something like Linguistics or Robotics or something that I’m kinda interested in and can earn money on, and do art on the side. But art is what I want to work with, so why not get a proper degree? Not because of the degree itself, might I add, but because of the art education/knowledge/guidance/etc. that such a course will provide.
So. Yeah.

Yes, because clearly a PM from a different party would have handled it better. Differently, maybe, but not better. Possibly/probably just as good, but I don’t think anyone could have handled it “better” than anyone else, especially a PM from a right-wing party, seeing as Breivik is a right-wing extremist.

The final decision as to what happens to him will be revealed next week. God damn I’m looking forward to it. If he gets a reduced punishment or is declared unaccountable for his actions (these are serious possibilities) I’m jumping ship. The justice system in this country is absolutely fucking ridiculous. Max. punishment of 21 years? If he is declared accountable, the government is going to shell out more than 40 million dollars to build a fucking hotel for the terrorist? Fuck.

Also I’m damn sure I bombed my Norwegian exam (who the fuck even writes about some dude who is too poor to pay for keeping his kids due to a one-child policy when the topic was population augh it seemed like a good idea for the first half of the exam).
