I prefer this to the thin-lined picture. So much. Although his belly is screwed up but EH.

Oh, as for the game, it’s awesome so far. I really miss the more free-roaming style you had in Okami, but the DS has a lot of limitations, so hey, I’m not gonna complain. By free-roaming style I mean that you controlled Ammy (and the camera) completely. In Okamiden, the game intervenes a lot with Chibi’s movement, as you cannot move the camera, so it 1. follows Chibi from the back, ALWAYS, and 2. the game uses the Pokémon Black/White way of “moving your character into the path,” or somesuch. If you’ve played Black/White, you should have an idea of what I mean.

It works, and it works well, but I still miss the more “omg open plains let’s RUN”-feeling that you got from Okami; you’d almost feel the wind blowing through Ammy’s fur as you ran over Shinshu Field or along Ryoshima Coast.

I’m in the Demon Market now (one boss beaten and six Brush Techniques freed, I believe), but I can’t wait until I get to the city. It’ll be interesting to see how they solved the problem of the DS’s limitation, considering the city’s a huge place with a lot of people walking around. Or at least it was in Okami, and so far, it seems like Okamiden is following the preceding game fairly well. We’ll see, though.

Damn thing’s still © to Capcom/Clover Studios.

EDIT: Showed the pic to my mum. She thinks I’m “copying” and that fanart is stupid. Nice one.
